Athari partnered with a global management consulting firm to support high-hazard industries in strengthening safety, performance and sustainability. The mining work spanned gold, copper, diamond, platinum and iron-ore operations in South Africa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Botswana and Namibia.

Deep-level gold risk containment
A global risk-containment rollout focused on leadership engagement and closing differences in how operational risks were perceived. The programme identified and managed high-consequence risks across surface areas, two shafts, a gold plant, a backfill plant and three tailings facilities.
